How is your diet? How about your general health? Do you know what is keeping you from becoming pregnant? Have you had your hormones tested? Woudl you like to learn how to eat healthier and how natural herbal health and diet can make all the difference for many couple? Grab a cup of red raspberry or herbal tea and sit awhile with us.

After the NPC Shutdown – What Now?

So you have completed the shutdown and feel strong and fertile; what now?   The next things you do are very important: First and most importantly, you keep doing all the healthy eating, diet and exercise things you have come to “love”.  Make sure to have your 8 glasses of water a day, try to continue juicing or at least making healthy smoothies if you can; or will.  Take your supplements – that are not cleansing supplements (except fiber if you need it).  Visit Our Store for pre-natal vitamins, digestive aids, natural progesterone cream and so much more. Next, do you know how to use the progesterone cream after shutdown?  You will not be shutting off ovulation any longer so from here on you would use it only once ovulation has occurred up until menses.  No need to go off the cream and wonder if your period will come.  It will come, even on the progesterone cream, if you have ovulated but not conceived. Consider a fertility monitor like the Fertility Tracker, OvaCue or even LH test trips to know when you are about to ovulate.  We prefer the Fertility Tracker for cost and efficiency. Take your temps if you like.  You can read about how to here by searching through the categories or tags. Watch your symptoms carefully.  Determine how your body is behaving now and how it may need some more tweaking. Join our group. Follow us on Twitter (beyondfertility) We would love to have you stay in touch for support or updates.  Feel free to ask us questions.  There is still a journey ahead; maybe short, maybe... read more

FAQ Natural Progesterone Cream During Shutdown

The FAQs of how to use natural progesterone cream during the NPC Shutdown / Cleanse. Join our private group at Facebook.  Click to like THIS page and then join THIS group. Recap  – The Purpose (read more on the full Purpose page): 1:   To cleanse the major organs of the body which in turn affect the reproductive system and often allow the body to produce life again. 2:   To restore cyst covered ovaries by shutting off FSH and LH surges for 3 months to restore the ovaries… 3:   To lose weight or change eating habits and to give the body proper nutrition which again can make for a better ovulation and healthier baby. FAQ on how to use Natural Progesterone Cream during the NPC Shutdown Q:   How do I use the Natural Progesterone Cream during shutdown? A:   Natural Progesterone cream may be used as a safe way to overshadow estrogen and to shutoff ovulation during this time.  If you have cysts and/or PCOS which are inhibiting ovulation, this method is highly recommended by Dr. Lee and others, noted in the field of hormonal health and women’s issues.  If you have long cycles or periods of waxing and waning mucus without ovulation then it is helpful for you as well.  If you have short luteal phase it may be a consideration as well. If you do not have cysts, anovulation or long cycles and will not be using Cycle Balance or Balance Cream you may skip this section.   We believe it is best to use the cream during this time. Q:   Is progesterone cream a contraceptive? A:   It... read more

Better Tasting Water

So did you ever feel like you couldn’t drink another glass of water even though you had read over and over how important it is for you? Well, it is very important and we try to stress that here at Infertility Workshop.  If you have menstrual cramps for instance, then water will hydrate your muscles to help them not to cramp as much.   If you have issues with miscarrying early on, you may be surprised to know that the muscles of uterus are MUSCLES and that means you need to be hydrated in order to keep from becoming rigid and not being able to contract and release lightly for the proper blood flow. So how to drink that 64 oz per day or more?  I have been juicing for many years and have recently found thrown in among the recipes a common answer. Tasty Water is what I call it, or Better Tasting Water and it consists of: 1 gallon pitcher of water (filtered or well is always best) 1 lemon washed and then cut into thin slices.  (take off the ends) 1/2 tsp grated fresh ginger.  Just peel it and grate it. 1 peeled cucumber sliced thin. Your favorite fruity tea bags as long as they don’t have sugar can also be added to make your water taste better too.  I like Celestial Seasonings tea for yummier water.  There are so many great flavors but my favorite would be a combination of True Blueberry and Wild Berry Zinger.  In a 2 quart pitcher put 2 Wild Berry Zinger and 1 True Blueberry and let steep until room temperature. ... read more

Symptoms of Estrogen Dominance

Estrogen Dominance is also called Estrogen Dominance Syndrome EDS. It is commonly misunderstood in that most women think it means they have too much estrogen or they say “My estrogen is low, so that cannot be my answer.” The truth is that estrogen dominance merely means that estrogen is dominant out of balance in relation to progesterone. Some symptoms of estrogen dominance may seem like something you have had for a long time and never thought it was anything but a pain. PMS – Pre Menstrual Syndrome Allergies – believe it or not allergies can be from hormonal imbalance. Hormones out of whack are a very common reason. Decreased sex drive – Now this is a bummer if you are trying to conceive and even if you are not, it is not a good thing for a marriage. Depression – Think about how many women you may know who are on prescriptions for depression who might use a boost from natural progesterone cream instead. Foggy thinking – Also related to the adrenals it is frustrating and confusing.  Many women in peri-menopause or menopausal years fear they are starting to lose their minds due to their foggy thinking. Cyclic headaches – This means they seem to come and go with your cycle.  Hormones spiking can cause even migraines. Weight gain, especially around the middle or hard to lose weight.  This can come from a hormonal imbalance due to raised cortisol levels which will then affect estrogen and progesterone levels. Fibrocystic breasts – Do you have bumps on your nipples that are similar to pimples? These are just the beginning few. ... read more

Immune System and Fertility

For the immune system, life is hard.  It is a 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week, 52-weeks-a-year battle against awell-equipped and persistent army trying to harm your health.  The immune system never rests and must always be on red alert. It takes no furloughs. The soldiers who make up the immune system comefrom and are found in a diverse collection of organs.  Although the components, when taken together, weigh only about two pounds (900 g), these two pounds are integral in keeping the scale of good health balanced. The sentries The largest and most easily seen component of the immune system is the skin. The skin is a physical barrier against pathogens—harmful bacteria, viruses, and fungi—and also a chemical barrier: the skin’s natural acidity is a poor environment for invaders. The mucous membranes are the sentries at the gates of our body: the openings of the eyes, sinuses, mouth, and so on. They secrete mucus, which both cleans away and traps pathogens. If bacteria should progress through the mouth or nose and into the stomach, it is still difficult for them to get into the blood. They must survive the stomach, which to them is a poisonous torture chamber of acids and digestive enzymes. Within the gates When a pathogen breaches a gate and enters the body, other components of the immune system—white blood cells—go to work. One type of whiteblood cell, a phagocyte, is like the skin in that it counters all invaders. Other types of white blood cells, in the class known as lymphocytes, are programmed to go after only certain pathogens.   The various types of white blood cells all work... read more

Clomid

Clomid or Clomiphene Citrate: The whole story Please consider liking this page or linking to us and helping others not to fall prey.  I have added a few questions as a checklist at the end of some paragraphs. Please read this carefully and consider natural alternatives such as cleansing, dietary changes or herbs.  Please consider cleansing and building for TTC for the sake of your own health and that of your baby.  Clomid forces an action that is not natural to the body and its intensity in the days of use is only the beginning of the many dangers. According to the Physician’s Desk Reference Why is this drug prescribed? Clomiphene is prescribed for the treatment of ovulatory failure in women who wish to become pregnant and whose husbands are fertile and potent.     My notes: Has your husband been checked with a semen analysis test?  See testing in our store. Most important facts about this drug Properly timed sexual intercourse is very important to increase the chances of conception. The likelihood of conception diminishes with each succeeding course of treatment. Your doctor will determine the need for continuing therapy after the first course. If you do not ovulate after 3 courses or do not become pregnant after 3 ovulations, your doctor will stop this therapy. My notes: If you have been on Clomiphene, has your doctor informed you of this?   How many courses have you completed?  Does your doctor have your best interest in mind if you have been given more than the FDA allows? How should you take this medication? Take this medication exactly as prescribed by your... read more

Hypertension

Of all the illnesses that make up cardiovascular diseases (CVD)—such as heart attack, stroke, angina pectoris, atherosclerosis, and arteriosclerosis—high blood pressure, also known as hypertension, is the most common. It is also a condition about which many North Americans are complacent. This is a riddle. Hypertension may be common, and we may not worry about it, but it can be deadly. Hypertension can result in serious conditions such as kidney disease to traumatic and often tragic events such as stroke, heart attack, and even death. So why the laid-back attitude? Do we just not care? It may be because of how hypertension “works.” It is quiet—there is no evidence of the disease until it has progressed to the point at which a crisis occurs. Its treatment is not without a physical cost—much of the medication used for hypertension has uncomfortable and troubling side effects. Nor is its treatment of short duration—hypertension therapy is generally lifelong. However, treatment does not have to be uncomfortable—hypertension can be lowered through three things that have no negative side effects (and actually have positive side effects); three things for which you may not have to pay extra because you use them as a matter of course; and three things that you may actually enjoy. These three things are diet, supplements, and exercise. The DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) diet is low in total fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol; rich in fruits, vegetables, and fiber; and contains small amounts of nonfat dairy products and meat, fish, poultry, or nuts. Hypertensive volunteers who followed this diet for eight weeks saw a significant reduction in blood... read more

World Class Athlete

At first glance, Jim Quinn and Tony Ray do not seem to have much in common.  Jim is from the southern United states – the great state Georgia –  and has a background in a “traditional” sport: He started swimming when he was 8 years old and evolved into a triathlete after college.  Tony Ray, on the other hand, grew up on the other side of the world, in Australia, and was introduced to the decidedly nonmainstream sport of surfing when he was 7 years old: His dad gave him a surfboard for Christmas.  So what do these two world-class athletes have in common?  AIM products! Since being introduced to the AIM products, Tony has caught the wave and is riding high. He has discovered new strength and believes that this has translated into moving to the next level. “Since I’ve been on the products, I’ve had a lot of success. They’ve really helped. In November 1997, I won the OP Pro Surfing Championship in Hawaii, which is one of the most prestigious in the world.” Last February, at the Reef Big Wave Team World Championship ’98, in Baja, Mexico, Tony placed second after Carlos Burke snuck ahead of him in the last 15 minutes of the final hour. And in April, Tony competed in the Rip Curl Bells Pro, where he again surfed against the best in the world and outsurfed the four-time world champion, Kelly Slater. Tony is not hesitant to give credit to AIM products. “They work for me, I just really like them. I can definitely feel a difference in my energy levels, especially with... read more

Heart Disease

The ChangingParadigm Heart Disease At one time, nothing could be done about heart disease. As someone clutched their heart and gasped, we could do nothing but look on in pain. As we learned more about the heart, we developed drugs and learned how to cut open the body and partially repair the heart. Today, the death rate for all heart-related diseases is 45 percent of what it was in 1963. Many claim that drugs and surgery are the reasons for this. But, if this is so, why is “progress” slow-ing down? According to the Harvard Health Letter (January 1998), there appears to be a slight rise in the incidences of stroke and kidney disease, and a leveling of the death rate from heart disease among U.S. adults. In other words, perhaps the well-established paradigm–drugs and surgery-is not the best answer. Perhaps it is time to review our past and see what we can learn. Perhaps it is time to change the paradigm. History The history of the heart and its diseases, like all medical history, is a history of ideas: an initial idea, reinforcement of the idea, challenges to the idea, rebukes to the challenges, and, perhaps, a new idea. One of the first ideas was put forth by Erasi-stratus of Alexandria, who dissected animals and humans (probably Egyptian mummies) 2,300 years ago. He discovered the veins, arteries, and nerves, and postulated that the heart is nothing more than their junction and that the arteries contain not blood, but air, spirit, or soul (called pneuma). This entered the body through the nose, throat, and lungs-in other words, through breathing.... read more

Healthy Cell Concept

The Healthy Cell Concept™ is one of the most important ideas that sets AIM apart from other health and nutrition companies. This concept is the basis for all AIM products and for improving quality of life. While other companies may look to just jump on the “hot product” bandwagon, AIM requires that all products adhere to the Healthy Cell Concept. The Healthy Cell Concept proposes that keeping the cell—the basic living unit of the body—healthy results in the whole body being healthy. The body and health are holistic: that is, they are both the greater whole of a number of smaller parts. The Healthy Cell Concept focuses on five of these smaller parts: Cell food, cell exercise, cell environment, cell protection, and a healthy mental attitude. These “parts” are both separate from each other and interrelated. Understanding and practicing the five ideas expressed in the Healthy Cell Concept adds up to the greater whole of a healthier life. The Healthy Cell Concept™ Cell food For our cells to be healthy, they must have pure, whole, natural, fresh foods. The best foods are raw foods, as their elements remain intact as they were created by nature. Raw foods are not modified by cooking or processes that subtract from the natural substances found in them. If we eat well, we do much toward achieving and maintaining health. Cell exercise Our cells need exercise to remain healthy. Exercise provides strength, flexibility, and mental alertness. Exercise also provides overall good health. Cell environment The environment we live in is important to our health. We may eat well and exercise, but if we live in... read more

Benefits of Fish Oils

Is fish oil fishy? Is fish oil passé? Health fads come and go, even in alternative health. A substance that received a good deal of acclaim a few years ago is fish oil. Recently, however, we have not heard so much about this product from the deep, as herbs seem to be the growing topic in health magazines and the popular press. Has fish oil lost its health luster? Fish oil first burst onto the cardiovascular scene in the 1970s, when epidemiological studies looking at the consumption of fish in relation to cardiovascular disease revealed that Eskimo populations that consume large quantities of fish show relatively low evidence of cardiovascular disease. This led to numerous studies exploring the potential link between fish and cardiovascular health.  Further research on fish and fish oil resulted in a tug of war. One study confirms their health benefits; another “proves” that benefits are exaggerated. A newer study reconfirms their benefits yet again, only to be “second-guessed” by yet another study. What was this tug of war and who won? Initially, it was over fish and fish oil’s effect on lipid (fats, such as cholesterol and triglycerides) levels. Consuming fish oil was said to lower, then raise, then lower, then raise cholesterol levels. One point that was agreed upon was that fish oil lowers triglyceride rates. And as for cholesterol levels? The debate over whether fish oil reduces or increases LDL cholesterol levels can perhaps best be summed up by W.S. Harris, as cited by Neil Stone, M.D., in a 1997 issue (65:4) of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Stone notes that in... read more

Q: What other products/herbs/foods might be helpful to use during this time? A: Let me answer this by explaining a little about how the body works. Horny Goat Weed and Infertility; Sex is fun again.

What a name for an article, right? Well, the truth is that many of the things one benefits from for fertility are actually just aphrodisiacs.  When things are right in the bedroom, things are very often right for the nursery.  As alternative therapies go, Fertile Male is something worth looking into. I was approached by someone about a new product that contains these herbs and whole foods.  How much easier could it be to take a couple of capsules at the kitchen counter and end up in the bedroom?  Most of the supplements for men we carry are specific but this is an overall tonic. Fertile Male is for it all; improve sperm count production, male libido and enhanced fertility, semen production, improves testosterone, maintains or even improves B6 and more benefits. Fertile Lady has the same ingredients with a feminine name because it restores libido and healthy sexual function in women as well. Especially for fertility in older pre or perimenopausal women.  Horny Goat Weed is also available as a single herb.  (New label coming.)  Click on any of the bottles to take you to our store.
