After the NPC Shutdown – What Now?

So you have completed the shutdown and feel strong and fertile; what now?   The next things you do are very important: First and most importantly, you keep doing all the healthy eating, diet and exercise things you have come to “love”.  Make sure to have your 8 glasses of water a day, try to continue juicing or at least making healthy smoothies if you can; or will.  Take your supplements – that are not cleansing supplements (except fiber if you need it).  Visit Our Store for pre-natal vitamins, digestive aids, natural progesterone cream and so much more. Next, do you know how to use the progesterone cream after shutdown?  You will not be shutting off ovulation any longer so from here on you would use it only once ovulation has occurred up until menses.  No need to go off the cream and wonder if your period will come.  It will come, even on the progesterone cream, if you have ovulated but not conceived. Consider a fertility monitor like the Fertility Tracker, OvaCue or even LH test trips to know when you are about to ovulate.  We prefer the Fertility Tracker for cost and efficiency. Take your temps if you like.  You can read about how to here by searching through the categories or tags. Watch your symptoms carefully.  Determine how your body is behaving now and how it may need some more tweaking. Join our group. Follow us on Twitter (beyondfertility) We would love to have you stay in touch for support or updates.  Feel free to ask us questions.  There is still a journey ahead; maybe short, maybe...

FAQ on how to use Natural Progesterone Cream during the NPC Shutdown Q:   How do I use the Natural Progesterone Cream during shutdown? A:   Natural Progesterone cream may be used as a safe way to overshadow estrogen and to shutoff ovulation during this time.  If you have cysts and/or PCOS which are inhibiting ovulation, this method is highly recommended by Dr. Lee and others, noted in the field of hormonal health and women’s issues.  If you have long cycles or periods of waxing and waning mucus without ovulation then it is helpful for you as well.  If you have short luteal phase it may be a consideration as well. If you do not have cysts, anovulation or long cycles and will not be using Cycle Balance or Balance Cream you may skip this section.   We believe it is best to use the cream during this time. Better Tasting Water

So did you ever feel like you couldn’t drink another glass of water even though you had read over and over how important it is for you? Well, it is very important and we try to stress that here at Infertility Workshop.  If you have menstrual cramps for instance, then water will hydrate your muscles to help them not to cramp as much.   If you have issues with miscarrying early on, you may be surprised to know that the muscles of uterus are MUSCLES and that means you need to be hydrated in order to keep from becoming rigid and not being able to contract and release lightly for the proper blood flow. So how to drink that 64 oz per day or more?  I have been juicing for many years and have recently found thrown in among the recipes a common answer. Tasty Water is what I call it, or Better Tasting Water and it consists of: 1 gallon pitcher of water (filtered or well is always best) 1 lemon washed and then cut into thin slices.  (take off the ends) 1/2 tsp grated fresh ginger.  Just peel it and grate it. 1 peeled cucumber sliced thin. Your favorite fruity tea bags as long as they don’t have sugar can also be added to make your water taste better too.  I like Celestial Seasonings tea for yummier water.  There are so many great flavors but my favorite would be a combination of True Blueberry and Wild Berry Zinger.  In a 2 quart pitcher put 2 Wild Berry Zinger and 1 True Blueberry and let steep until room temperature. ...

Symptoms of Estrogen Dominance

Estrogen Dominance is also called Estrogen Dominance Syndrome EDS. It is commonly misunderstood in that most women think it means they have too much estrogen or they say “My estrogen is low, so that cannot be my answer.” The truth is that estrogen dominance merely means that estrogen is dominant out of balance in relation to progesterone. Some symptoms of estrogen dominance may seem like something you have had for a long time and never thought it was anything but a pain. PMS – Pre Menstrual Syndrome Allergies – believe it or not allergies can be from hormonal imbalance. Hormones out of whack are a very common reason. Decreased sex drive – Now this is a bummer if you are trying to conceive and even if you are not, it is not a good thing for a marriage. Depression – Think about how many women you may know who are on prescriptions for depression who might use a boost from natural progesterone cream instead. Foggy thinking – Also related to the adrenals it is frustrating and confusing.  Many women in peri-menopause or menopausal years fear they are starting to lose their minds due to their foggy thinking. Cyclic headaches – This means they seem to come and go with your cycle.  Hormones spiking can cause even migraines. Weight gain, especially around the middle or hard to lose weight.  This can come from a hormonal imbalance due to raised cortisol levels which will then affect estrogen and progesterone levels. Fibrocystic breasts – Do you have bumps on your nipples that are similar to pimples? These are just the beginning few. ...

Broccoli soup for fertility

This is a recipe I made up for when we were doing a reboot and my daughters wanted some soup.    If you have been juicing all day or taking enzymes like Phyto Bio Forte and Digestion Specialist, then everything does not have to be raw.  The enzymes will unlock the nutrients in this soup. 2 large stalks of broccoli – one used raw and the other sauteed 3 garlic cloves – sliced or minced fine veggie spray for the pan or a tsp olive oil, if needed. 1 cup spinach (more or less to your taste) 1/2 red pepper 1/4 – 1/2 medium onion – any kind. 1/4 fresh parsley 1/2 tsp celery seed – optional  (This is like Dong Quai in its makeup so use it often.) nutritional yeast – optional.  Can give it a cheesy taste. 4 cherry or grape tomatoes 1/2 sweet potato –  peeled and cut very small.  optional Spray a non stick pan and saute’ the garlic, pepper and onion if you want.  Add the spinach when done. In 2 cups water bring 1 stalk of broccoli to boil and simmer about 3 minutes. Turn the heat off and put 2 cups of the broccoli/water mix into a food processor.  Process until as smooth as possible with the saute’ mix, the other raw broccoli stalk, tomatoes and celery seasoning (sweet potato if you are including that too. Add it all back to the rest of the broccoli and water. Enjoy with nutritional yeast on the top if you’d like.  It is very good but even better when you have become used to green juicing....

Good Morning Greens

Let me be as honest as possible.  It would be quite unusual for anyone to say this is her favorite juice the first time she makes it. But, if you are hoping for a baby with all you do instead of passively hoping and letting life go by in the meantime, then you are going to be willing to do this drink.  It gets better every day. Drink up!  Your baby is waiting.   Good Morning Greens; In the hopper place: 1 cup Kale – this is about 2 large or 2-3 small stalks of kale. 1 cups Spinach – Spinach is something that  you can easily use that comes in baby form. 1/2 medium Cucumber 4 stalks Celery 1 Green Apple 1” Ginger root 1/2 bunch parsley; curly, flat or even cilantro will do.  1/2 bunch equals a good handful. Optional: At first you might add another apple or 1 whole cucumber to thin it out. Optional also or only: 1/2 med beet.  This will add nutrition as well as a sweetness to the juice. Morning Pucker

Many of the detoxifying juice fasts and programs agree on the best way to start the day; with a lemon!  Waking up your liver, gall bladder and pancreas with a Morning Pucker. It doesn’t get any easier:  Roll a lemon on the counter and press firmly as you do. Cut off one end, enough to put in a hand juicer gadget (shown here) or use a manual citrus juicer.  Pour or juice into your glass. Boil some water and put about /4 cup of hot water and 2/3 cup cool water in a glass.  (Pour in the cool water first so the glass doesn’t break.) Make sure the seeds are out of the glass. Drink it down and pucker up. Let it sit with you while you juice your Morning Sunrise or Good Morning Greens. Enjoy!  Read all about lovely lemons.   Share and...

Morning Sunshine

Morning Sunshine is how I start the day every day of my life.  It is great for weight loss and the Vitamin C makes it amazing for fertility / infertility.  Nourish your adrenals and save your hormones The most important thing to know about juicing for weight loss, fertility, detoxing (detoxifying) is how to start your day.  Consider that every night you probably go to bed thinking that tomorrow is going to be different.  Well tomorrow truly CAN be different! Start your day with the Morning Pucker. Then get your juicing going and add these to the hopper: 1 medium grapefruit 1 juice orange or a juicy orange.  I juicing orange has thinner skin.  It is not the same as a navel orange and they are smaller.  They might have spots on them but that is OK. 1 lemon with the rind removed or cut off.  Leave some of the pith (the white part) if possible.  Though it is more bitter than the center it is where a high concentration of Vitamin C is found. 1 – 1″ cube of ginger root.  You can leave the skin on if it is organic or cleaned. Optional to take the edge off would be a few strawberries, leaves and all.   Share and...

Annes Testimony

This is from Anne Searles.      She used to be in our support group before things were turned more toward having the information on the website.   You can sign up for our email support list by using the link on the side bar. Please notice that she cleansed, did vitex and really researched to know her stuff.   She also mentions about progesterone cream and how it works and when it helped and when it didn’t.   The creams are in our catalog store under Cycle Balance Cream and Happy PMS Cream.   I think this is powerful. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please visit our blogging site instead for the most uptodate version of this page: Anne had a baby boy on December 10th, 2000. here is her story – it’s long but awesome This will just be a little bit on how I believe I was able to conceive. Last year my cycles were running around 32 days consistently thanks toacupuncture. I started using progesterone cream (PC) in August thinking thatalone would help my luteal phase (LP). Since I wasn’t taking into considerationthat I would O later because of my longer cycle, I used the PC starting day 12or so. I did feel much better over all and slept REALLY well. I then joined theWalnut Study and had to stop using the PC. Within a month my cycles started tostretch out to 40+ days and by September or October I dropped out of the studybecause I couldn’t handle the stress of “when is it coming”. I dedicated October to studying the archives and reading whatever I could onherbs for treating...

Ovulation Symptoms

Signs of Ovulation; 1, 2 and  3: Sign 1: Mittelschmerz as a sign of ovulation Mittelschmerz is one of the common symptoms of ovulation but not a good sign. It is generally associated with small cysts on the ovaries. Mittelschmerz is also a post ovulation sign which is helpful if you want to know if you are ovulating but not if you are trying to conceive and looking for signs of ovulation for preconception. Mittlelschmerz gets it name from the pain, a twangy kind of pain in the middle of the cycle. While it is associated with ovulation it is an “after thought” to ovulation. The word mittelschmerz is German and has it roots from “mid-cycle pain”. Many may have felt this pain but never known what it was and actually some find comfort understanding the reason for this twinge at ovulation time. Sign 2: Basal Body Temperature as a sign of ovulation Another sign of ovulation and even pre-ovulation is found in monitoring basal body temperature. Basically, you roll over in the morning, turn off the alarm and reach for the thermometer. By lying still for the next couple minutes (until the electronic thermometer beep sounds) you can track changes in the cycle by this “base line” temperature. Thus, it gets it name basal body temperature. Two key things play in the role of monitoring impending ovulation when taking basal body temperature: The first sign that ovulation is possible is that temperatures “should” be lower in the beginning of the cycle. This part is known as the follicular stage. The follicular stage is named that because it is when...

Ms Testimony

This testimony is from M who does not want her name, her husband’s or her baby boy’s on the web but feels that her testimony might help others.  Her natural approach to health paid off; TWICE. But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall rise up withwings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary , they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah40:31 – The Lord gave me this verse at age 13 to be my life verse – but it wasn’t until myrecent struggle with infertility that I understood the depth of His love for me and a true understanding of that scripture from the Old Testament. As a young women – if you would have asked me if I was ever to get married – I wouldhave put my nose up at you and said emphatically – NO – or at least not till I am in my30’s – . My priorities as a young women (not that I am too old now heheh – will be 30 inJanuary2001) were God first – then traveling and seeing the world and my career – I had notime for men in my life —– HAH! when I was 20 – I had just come back from Israel – andmet the love of my life – I fell gaga googoo in love with my husband and we were marriedwhen I was 23. Lauras Testimony

I have hesitated to share my news with the group, as I know how receiving someone else’s good news feels. However, I believe my struggles and success may help others and therefore I share with you today. I am almost 9 weeks pregnant. (Laura gave birth to a baby girl in September 2000 and then did another cleanse and had a baby boy in 2004)  If you bear with me, I’ll share my story as best I can.  These are her words. My dh and I are both 35 now and have been ttc #1 for 2 years. We have/had unexplained infertility. I did see an infertility specialist (RE: Reproductive Endocrinologist) after 6-9 months without success. When I first starting seeing the RE I had little knowledge of my own body or general reproduction. I am in the health field (dietitian), however andtherefore understood basic medicine. We did the usual tests. Hormones, checked for anemia, thyroid and other unusual labs. Everything was normal. Mydh also did a standard sperm analysis and this, too was normal. It was then suggested we do an HSG (dye test to see if my tubes were clear). We did it and it, too was normal. Mycycles were deemed regular (29-31 days always) and from best of my knowledge I always ovulated. My weight has always been good, I routinely exercise. I eat a generally good, mostly vegetarian diet. So, it was then determined that we had unexplained IF. At this point, my RE suggested Clomid. I asked why and she said, it could boost my ovulation, provide a stronger egg(s).  I hesitated, but decided...

Understanding D Chiro Inositol

Foods High in Inositol NOT the drug d-Chiro-inositol but the REAL inositol stuff! Quantities are approximated per 100 grams of food stuff, which is a little under 3.57+ oz.(each oz is 28 grams) 1,200 milligrams of Inositol was the therapeutic dose used in testing of the drug d-chiro-inositol (chemically carried inositol). The first column is the milligrams of inositol in each 100 grams of the food .The second column is the grams of food you would have to consume to get 1200 milligrams of inositol.  To put it simply: in 4 oz of soy lecithin you get almost twice the amount needed daily where as with beef you would need 1 1/2 lbs per day.  As you go down the table you need higher amounts of the food but the other benefits of the foods are not factored in here.  Consider that when eating a balanced diet. The grams needed column was rounded to the nearest 1/100th since it becomes arbitrary at that point. (tests done showed numbers extended well past 1/100ths place.) Remember to divide grams needed by  28 to figure out how many oz. would equal grams needed. FAQs of Juicing for Fertility

Are you ready for juicing?  Want to make eating for fertility even easier?  Juicing is a little work for a LOT of benefit. Use the contact form to write with your juicing questions.    Q:  What juicer is the best? A:  There are so many great juicers out there. I don’t believe you have to have an expensive juicer at first.  Work your way up, if you want, but I have never needed something fancy.  At this writing I use a Jack La Lane Power Juicer.  We are just going to talk about what makes  good juice, why juice and how to juice. Q: Why Juice? A:   Juicing is a natural way to supplement your diet with natural vitamins and enzymes.  Juice is able to enter your system with very little work for your digestive system because it is already broken down. Q:  Are organically grown foods better? A:   By all means.  Organically means it is pesticide and GMO free with higher growing standards. Q:  Some juicer companies make a lot of health claims about their machines, are these claims legitimate? A:   A juicer must be able to liberate the hidden values from fibers and place them into the juice under pressure without loss by aeration or static in order to obtain the full nutritional value of such juices extracted from fruits and vegetables. Juicing Tips from Cherie Calbom’s book “The Juice Lady’s Juicing for High Level Wellness and Vibrant Good Looks” 1.  Wash all produce before juicing; fruit and vegetable washes are available from many grocers and health food stores. Cut away all moldy, bruised, or damaged areas before...

Herbs Contraindicated During Pregnancy These are listed as first in the Latin name, which is used for homeopathy also.   Second is the name of the herb you would look up. Also important to know is that these are concentrated herbs. For instance, flaxseed oi lor flax isn’t a problem BUT the herb might be too powerful. Natural Health and the Prostate

Men worry about physical and mental function as they age.   But aging can be limited.    This is an excellent natural health article in general with many great tips to get you healthy and educated on the subjects of natural health and prostate health. By Dr. Andrew Meyers The idea that aging is inevitable can be a difficult concept for many men to accept. Aging, from the male perspective, is frequently associated with loss of physical and mental function and vitality. The implied stigma that comes with aging often prevents men from dealing with important health issues associated with the process. The goal of this article is to dispel the idea that aging has to be a limiting factor and to shed light onsome key health concerns for the 40-plus man. As my father, is in his mid-50s, I am personally witnessing the changes men face as we age. My father has always been vital and physically fit; however, his body is changing andwith it, his perspective. Sports-related injuries have taken their toll on his mobility, and he has had to adopt new approaches to his overall health. If we examine aging from a holistic perspective, we can see important health considerations among mind, body, and spirit. Whole health When we look at the aging process, some clear-cut research findings apply. We know from numerous studies that a whole foods diet high in fiber, low in saturated fat, and rich in nutrients is the best health-promoting approach.  Eating fresh vegetables and fruits rich in antioxidant nutrients and fiber helps reduce the risk factors for cancer. Consistent moderate exercise promotes cardiovascular...

Benefits of Pollen Extracts

Men who deal with infertility in smaller measures may benefit from the same supplement as those with prostate problems.  Prostate issues can often be tracked back to decreased fertility in males, even many years earlier.  The signs may just not have been seen.  Consider the article below and how it may relate to you. What about pollen? People sometimes confuse pollen with pollen extracts. Pollen is the substance found in plants that fertilizes other, like plants.  It consists of fine, powdery, yellowish grains or spores, sometimes in masses.  Bees collect this for the hive.  When this pollen is gathered from bees and the bee hive it is generally known as bee pollen. In a pollen extract, the pollen is gathered from plants and then is extracted in the laboratory. Bee pollen is also known as a healthful food and as a general tonic fo good health. Many athletes use it, as it is said to enhance performance. For more information on bee pollen and AIM Mountain Meadow Bee Pollen™. Pollen and pollen extracts have long been used to maintain good health.  Perhaps the better-known pollen product is bee pollen, which has been used as a tonic for centuries.   Another pollen product, pollen extract, is beginning to become known for helping to maintain urogenital health. Literature on pollen extract focuses on three physiological effects:  Smooth muscle contraction, anti-inflammatory action, and effects on enzymes. Smooth muscle contraction is important in prostate problems because muscle contraction plays a role in allowing the bladder to void. When the muscles at the neck of the bladder are tense, urinary problems may result. Spasms...

Dribbling Into Middle Age

Men! Are your nights interrupted by frequent trips to the bathroom? Do you groan in agony when you see a “next rest stop, 69 miles” sign on the road?  Have you given up basketball games because you’re doing more dribbling than the players? If so, you’ve truly entered middle age and are experiencing the one problem that nearly all men share: Prostate problems, especially benign prostatic hyperplasia. The prostate is a donut-shaped, chestnut-sized gland located below the bladder. More important is that it surrounds the urethra, the tube through which urine flows from the bladder. If the prostate is inflamed or enlarged, as is often the case with prostat problems, it can push against the urethra, pinching it and causing it to narrow. Theresult is the same as when you pinch your garden hose; the water dribbles out. To compensate for the narrowing of the urethra, the muscular wall of the bladder contracts more strongly to expel urine. This increased “exercise” leads to the thickening of the bladder wall and a decrease in its urine capacity. The bladder will hold less and less urine, resulting in having to urinate more and more. Basically, there is nothing you can do to keep the prostate from enlarging as you age. When in your 20s, 30s, and 40s, the prostate remains much the same size, but when you hitthe big five-zero it starts growing. By age 85 just about every male has some prostate growth. This growth is generally known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Known traditionally as “old man’s disease” because so many elderly men develop it, various reports state that 50...

Bee pollen is a substance that bees collect from flowers to use as food. When a bee climbs into a flower to gather nectar, it brushes the flower stamen, which holds pollen. The pollen is collected in tiny baskets at the back of the bee’s legs. It is taken back to the hive, and enzymes and nectar are added to it to create bee pollen. This pollen is then used to feed the young. Bee pollen is often referred to as “the bread of bees.” What nutrients are found in bee pollen? Bee pollen is one of the few foods that, in itself, is life sustaining. This is because it contains everything we need: It is 25 percent vegetable protein (including at least 18 amino acids and all eight essential amino acids) and contains more than a dozen vitamins, 28 minerals, 11 enzymes and coenzymes, and carbohydrates. Immune System and Fertility

For the immune system, life is hard.  It is a 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week, 52-weeks-a-year battle against awell-equipped and persistent army trying to harm your health.  The immune system never rests and must always be on red alert. It takes no furloughs. The soldiers who make up the immune system comefrom and are found in a diverse collection of organs.  Although the components, when taken together, weigh only about two pounds (900 g), these two pounds are integral in keeping the scale of good health balanced. The sentries The largest and most easily seen component of the immune system is the skin.
