Better Tasting Water

So did you ever feel like you couldn’t drink another glass of water even though you had read over and over how important it is for you? Well, it is very important and we try to stress that here at Infertility Workshop.  If you have menstrual cramps for instance, then water will hydrate your muscles to help them not to cramp as much.   If you have issues with miscarrying early on, you may be surprised to know that the muscles of uterus are MUSCLES and that means you need to be hydrated in order to keep from becoming rigid and not being able to contract and release lightly for the proper blood flow. So how to drink that 64 oz per day or more?  I have been juicing for many years and have recently found thrown in among the recipes a common answer. Tasty Water is what I call it, or Better Tasting Water and it consists of: 1 gallon pitcher of water (filtered or well is always best) 1 lemon washed and then cut into thin slices.  (take off the ends) 1/2 tsp grated fresh ginger.  Just peel it and grate it. 1 peeled cucumber sliced thin. Your favorite fruity tea bags as long as they don’t have sugar can also be added to make your water taste better too.  I like Celestial Seasonings tea for yummier water.  There are so many great flavors but my favorite would be a combination of True Blueberry and Wild Berry Zinger.  In a 2 quart pitcher put 2 Wild Berry Zinger and 1 True Blueberry and let steep until room temperature. ...

Broccoli soup for fertility

This is a recipe I made up for when we were doing a reboot and my daughters wanted some soup.    If you have been juicing all day or taking enzymes like Phyto Bio Forte and Digestion Specialist, then everything does not have to be raw.  The enzymes will unlock the nutrients in this soup. 2 large stalks of broccoli – one used raw and the other sauteed 3 garlic cloves – sliced or minced fine veggie spray for the pan or a tsp olive oil, if needed. 1 cup spinach (more or less to your taste) 1/2 red pepper 1/4 – 1/2 medium onion – any kind. 1/4 fresh parsley 1/2 tsp celery seed – optional  (This is like Dong Quai in its makeup so use it often.) nutritional yeast – optional.  Can give it a cheesy taste. 4 cherry or grape tomatoes 1/2 sweet potato –  peeled and cut very small.  optional Spray a non stick pan and saute’ the garlic, pepper and onion if you want.  Add the spinach when done. In 2 cups water bring 1 stalk of broccoli to boil and simmer about 3 minutes. Turn the heat off and put 2 cups of the broccoli/water mix into a food processor.  Process until as smooth as possible with the saute’ mix, the other raw broccoli stalk, tomatoes and celery seasoning (sweet potato if you are including that too. Add it all back to the rest of the broccoli and water. Enjoy with nutritional yeast on the top if you’d like.  It is very good but even better when you have become used to green juicing....

Good Morning Greens

Let me be as honest as possible.  It would be quite unusual for anyone to say this is her favorite juice the first time she makes it. But, if you are hoping for a baby with all you do instead of passively hoping and letting life go by in the meantime, then you are going to be willing to do this drink.  It gets better every day. Drink up!  Your baby is waiting.   Good Morning Greens; In the hopper place: 1 cup Kale – this is about 2 large or 2-3 small stalks of kale. 1 cups Spinach – Spinach is something that  you can easily use that comes in baby form. 1/2 medium Cucumber 4 stalks Celery 1 Green Apple 1” Ginger root 1/2 bunch parsley; curly, flat or even cilantro will do.  1/2 bunch equals a good handful. Optional: At first you might add another apple or 1 whole cucumber to thin it out. Optional also or only: 1/2 med beet.  This will add nutrition as well as a sweetness to the juice. Morning Pucker

Many of the detoxifying juice fasts and programs agree on the best way to start the day; with a lemon!  Waking up your liver, gall bladder and pancreas with a Morning Pucker. It doesn’t get any easier:  Roll a lemon on the counter and press firmly as you do. Cut off one end, enough to put in a hand juicer gadget (shown here) or use a manual citrus juicer.  Pour or juice into your glass. Boil some water and put about /4 cup of hot water and 2/3 cup cool water in a glass.  (Pour in the cool water first so the glass doesn’t break.) Make sure the seeds are out of the glass. Drink it down and pucker up. Let it sit with you while you juice your Morning Sunrise or Good Morning Greens. Enjoy!  Read all about lovely lemons.   Share and...

Morning Sunshine

Morning Sunshine is how I start the day every day of my life.  It is great for weight loss and the Vitamin C makes it amazing for fertility / infertility.  Nourish your adrenals and save your hormones The most important thing to know about juicing for weight loss, fertility, detoxing (detoxifying) is how to start your day.  Consider that every night you probably go to bed thinking that tomorrow is going to be different.  Well tomorrow truly CAN be different! Start your day with the Morning Pucker. Then get your juicing going and add these to the hopper: 1 medium grapefruit 1 juice orange or a juicy orange.  I juicing orange has thinner skin.  It is not the same as a navel orange and they are smaller.  They might have spots on them but that is OK. 1 lemon with the rind removed or cut off.  Leave some of the pith (the white part) if possible.  Though it is more bitter than the center it is where a high concentration of Vitamin C is found. 1 – 1″ cube of ginger root.  You can leave the skin on if it is organic or cleaned. Optional to take the edge off would be a few strawberries, leaves and all.   Share and...

Annes Testimony

This is from Anne Searles.      She used to be in our support group before things were turned more toward having the information on the website.   You can sign up for our email support list by using the link on the side bar. Please notice that she cleansed, did vitex and really researched to know her stuff.   She also mentions about progesterone cream and how it works and when it helped and when it didn’t.   The creams are in our catalog store under Cycle Balance Cream and Happy PMS Cream.   I think this is powerful. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please visit our blogging site instead for the most uptodate version of this page: Anne had a baby boy on December 10th, 2000. here is her story – it’s long but awesome This will just be a little bit on how I believe I was able to conceive. Last year my cycles were running around 32 days consistently thanks toacupuncture. I started using progesterone cream (PC) in August thinking thatalone would help my luteal phase (LP). Since I wasn’t taking into considerationthat I would O later because of my longer cycle, I used the PC starting day 12or so. I did feel much better over all and slept REALLY well. I then joined theWalnut Study and had to stop using the PC. Within a month my cycles started tostretch out to 40+ days and by September or October I dropped out of the studybecause I couldn’t handle the stress of “when is it coming”. I dedicated October to studying the archives and reading whatever I could onherbs for treating...

Ms Testimony

This testimony is from M who does not want her name, her husband’s or her baby boy’s on the web but feels that her testimony might help others.  Her natural approach to health paid off; TWICE. But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall rise up withwings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary , they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah40:31 – The Lord gave me this verse at age 13 to be my life verse – but it wasn’t until myrecent struggle with infertility that I understood the depth of His love for me and a true understanding of that scripture from the Old Testament. As a young women – if you would have asked me if I was ever to get married – I wouldhave put my nose up at you and said emphatically – NO – or at least not till I am in my30’s – . Understanding D Chiro Inositol

Foods High in Inositol NOT the drug d-Chiro-inositol but the REAL inositol stuff! Quantities are approximated per 100 grams of food stuff, which is a little under 3.57+ oz.(each oz is 28 grams) 1,200 milligrams of Inositol was the therapeutic dose used in testing of the drug d-chiro-inositol (chemically carried inositol). The first column is the milligrams of inositol in each 100 grams of the food .The second column is the grams of food you would have to consume to get 1200 milligrams of inositol.  To put it simply: in 4 oz of soy lecithin you get almost twice the amount needed daily where as with beef you would need 1 1/2 lbs per day.  As you go down the table you need higher amounts of the food but the other benefits of the foods are not factored in here.  Consider that when eating a balanced diet. The grams needed column was rounded to the nearest 1/100th since it becomes arbitrary at that point. (tests done showed numbers extended well past 1/100ths place.) Remember to divide grams needed by  28 to figure out how many oz. would equal grams needed. FAQs of Juicing for Fertility

Are you ready for juicing?  Want to make eating for fertility even easier?  Juicing is a little work for a LOT of benefit. Use the contact form to write with your juicing questions.    Q:  What juicer is the best? A:  There are so many great juicers out there. I don’t believe you have to have an expensive juicer at first.  Work your way up, if you want, but I have never needed something fancy.  At this writing I use a Jack La Lane Power Juicer.  We are just going to talk about what makes  good juice, why juice and how to juice. Q: Why Juice? A:   Juicing is a natural way to supplement your diet with natural vitamins and enzymes.  Juice is able to enter your system with very little work for your digestive system because it is already broken down. Q:  Are organically grown foods better? A:   By all means.  Organically means it is pesticide and GMO free with higher growing standards. Q:  Some juicer companies make a lot of health claims about their machines, are these claims legitimate? A:   A juicer must be able to liberate the hidden values from fibers and place them into the juice under pressure without loss by aeration or static in order to obtain the full nutritional value of such juices extracted from fruits and vegetables. Juicing Tips from Cherie Calbom’s book “The Juice Lady’s Juicing for High Level Wellness and Vibrant Good Looks” 1.  Wash all produce before juicing; fruit and vegetable washes are available from many grocers and health food stores. Cut away all moldy, bruised, or damaged areas before...

Galactorhea

Galactorrhea, Milk Consumption and Fertility from the book Fertility, Cycles and Nutrition by Marilyn M. Shannon New research provides evidence that in some women milk consumption may be related to decreased fertility as they age as well as early  menopause.  This is because a sugar found only in milk, galactose, is harmful to the ovaries.  When the original milk sugar, lactose, is digested, two smaller sugars, glucose and galactose, are produced. The liver quickly takes up the galactose and converts it into glucose, so that what we call “blood sugar” is all glucose.  However, some women cannot make this conversion well, and they ahve galactose circulating in their blood.  the galactose apparently is harmful to the unfertilized eggs, which must coninue to develop before ovulation. Should you restrict milk products? If you have unexplained infertility or cycle irregularities, especially sccondary infertilty in your thirties, idealy you could have you blood tested for the present of galactose.  A negative test after drinking milk would conclusively show that ths is not your problem.  If you cannot find a physician willing to test your blood, in addition to the other nutritional suggestions here, you may wish to avoid all milk products except or butter for six to nine months, charting your cycles so that you canobserve any improvement in mucus and temperature patterns. Butter is purely fat and is an essential fatty acid of sorts – important to note that many women believe it is best to drink skim or 1% milk.  This is not true because that makes it more milk, less fat and the fat is not what people have...

Benefits of Fish Oils

Is fish oil fishy? Is fish oil passé? Health fads come and go, even in alternative health. A substance that received a good deal of acclaim a few years ago is fish oil. Recently, however, we have not heard so much about this product from the deep, as herbs seem to be the growing topic in health magazines and the popular press. Has fish oil lost its health luster? Fish oil first burst onto the cardiovascular scene in the 1970s, when epidemiological studies looking at the consumption of fish in relation to cardiovascular disease revealed that Eskimo populations that consume large quantities of fish show relatively low evidence of cardiovascular disease. This led to numerous studies exploring the potential link between fish and cardiovascular health.  Further research on fish and fish oil resulted in a tug of war. One study confirms their health benefits; another “proves” that benefits are exaggerated. A newer study reconfirms their benefits yet again, only to be “second-guessed” by yet another study. What was this tug of war and who won? Initially, it was over fish and fish oil’s effect on lipid (fats, such as cholesterol and triglycerides) levels. Consuming fish oil was said to lower, then raise, then lower, then raise cholesterol levels. One point that was agreed upon was that fish oil lowers triglyceride rates. And as for cholesterol levels? The debate over whether fish oil reduces or increases LDL cholesterol levels can perhaps best be summed up by W.S. Harris, as cited by Neil Stone, M.D., in a 1997 issue (65:4) of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Stone notes that in...

Benefits of Bentonite Clay

Bentonite Clay and DetoxFrom Dr. Bernard Jensen’s book: Guide to Diet and Detoxification Bentonite Clay and DetoxFrom Dr. Bernard Jensen’s book: Guide to Diet and Detoxification“When used with the elimination diet, these products assist in producing the most thorough elimination possible.”  He goes on to suggest that they are helpful because they do not further bulk the impactions often found in the bowel. From:  http://www.alternativemedicine.com/ Order healthy supplements at WholeFamilyHealth.com/shop The notion of eating clay to produce internal healing will no doubt strike many as farfetched if not a little primitive. But natural clay, especially the form known as bentonite, has not only been used medicinally for centuries by indigenous  peoples around the world, but has, in recent years, been increasingly prescribed by practitioners of alternative medicine as a simple but effective internal cleanser to assist in reversing numerous health problems. Clay is a great healer, according to clay expert Ran Knishinsky in The Clay Cure (Healing Arts Press, 1998), who quips I have been eating dirt every day for the past six years. Indeed, in over 200 cultures worldwide, every day people eat or drink clay the medicinal form of dirt as both a nutritional supplement and detoxifying agent, observes Knishinsky. It is not ordinary dirt of course. The name bentonite refers to a clay first identified (or named) in cretaceous rocks in Fort Benton, Wyoming. Although bentonite deposits occur worldwide, many of the largest concentrations are found in the Great Plains area of North America. Bentonite is not a mineral but a commercial name for montmorillonite, the active mineral in many medicinal clays and which comes from  weathered volcanic...

B6 and progesterone production

The benefits of B-6 are many.  Let’s look at the best of them: Vitamin B6 in its natural state, as opposed to isolated in a laboratory, will give your body the “anutrients” that are supposed to accompany it.  A-nutrients are the balancing nutrients that all vitamins and minerals have “attached” to them.  An example is that to separate calcium from magnesium would make calcium almost unusable by the body.  Calcium needs magnesium to draw it into the blood and tissue.  Copper needs zinc etc.  With vitamins it is the same. Vitamin B6 is the vitamin necessary for the production of progesterone and a good healthy egg. Vitamin B6 will also lower prolactin; the hormone which produces milk for baby after birth.  It is this higher level of prolactin after birth which suppresses progesterone production.  This may not sound positive if you are nursing but for those who have allergies to dairy it is very helpful.  Note: Because of this lack of  B6 and subsequent rise in prolactin many will find fertility during nursing lowered.  Raising B6 will therefore lower prolactin, milk production and raise progesterone levels over time. Vitamin B6 will also help the body to deal effectively with stress.  Without it, stress raises cortisol which affects testosterone as well causing the imbalance of testosterone and estrogen necessary for proper a proper cycle.  More about this when we develop hormonal strategies. Vitamin B6 is necessary for the formation of antibodies and red blood cells. Vitamin B6 maintains and stabilizes healthy body tissue, skin and nerves, and hormone production. Vitamin B6 is as important to men as it is for...
