Step 3 – Finish Strong
Step 3 – Finish Strong
Finishing strong means not forgetting the baby growing inside you or the husband and children around you. It means walking through a healthier life that requires stamina and persistence all rolled up in something called hands-on love. Your baby needs you to pamper him through pregnancy and beyond. Your years ahead of fertility and menopause have their foundation in what you do today.
The articles below will help you to achieve better health in pregnancy and beyond for the whole family.

After the NPC Shutdown – What Now?
So you have completed the shutdown and feel strong and fertile; what now? The next things you do are very important:
- First and most importantly, you keep doing all the healthy eating, diet and exercise things you have come to “love”. Make sure to have your 8 glasses of water a day, try to continue juicing or at least making healthy smoothies if you can; or will. Take your supplements – that are not cleansing supplements (except fiber if you need it). Visit Our Store for pre-natal vitamins, digestive aids, natural progesterone cream and so much more.
- Next, do you know how to use the progesterone cream after shutdown? You will not be shutting off ovulation any longer so from here on you would use it only once ovulation has occurred up until menses. No need to go off the cream and wonder if your period will come. It will come, even on the progesterone cream, if you have ovulated but not conceived.
- Consider a fertility monitor like the Fertility Tracker, OvaCue or even LH test trips to know when you are about to ovulate. We prefer the Fertility Tracker for cost and efficiency.
- Take your temps if you like. You can read about how to here by searching through the categories or tags.
- Watch your symptoms carefully. Determine how your body is behaving now and how it may need some more tweaking.

Lauras Testimony
I have hesitated to share my news with the group, as I know how receiving someone else’s good news feels. However, I believe my struggles and success may help others and therefore I share with you today. I am almost 9 weeks pregnant. (Laura gave birth to a baby girl in September 2000 and then did another cleanse and had a baby boy in 2004) If you bear with me, I’ll share my story as best I can. These are her words. (more…)

Secondary Infertility
Secondary infertility is a confusing diagnosis. You already have a child…why is it so difficult to have another one?
Secondary infertility is even more common than primary infertility. And it is very different. You might feel guilty about your infertility because you have friends who haven’t been able to get pregnant at all.
You should not feel greedy for wanting another child. Your frustration is just as valid.
Making your body healthy overall can help you overcome your infertility. We are adding more posts to this section. Please write to us using the contact form so we can help you through this personally.

Hypertension
Of all the illnesses that make up cardiovascular diseases (CVD)—such as heart attack, stroke, angina pectoris, atherosclerosis, and arteriosclerosis—high blood pressure, also known as hypertension, is the most common. It is also a condition about which many North Americans are complacent.
This is a riddle. Hypertension may be common, and we may not worry about it, but it can be deadly. Hypertension can result in serious conditions such as kidney disease to traumatic and often tragic events such as stroke, heart attack, and even death.
So why the laid-back attitude? Do we just not care? It may be because of how hypertension “works.” It is quiet—there is no evidence of the disease until it has progressed to the point at which a crisis occurs. Its treatment is not without a physical cost—much of the medication used for hypertension has uncomfortable and troubling side effects. Nor is its treatment of short duration—hypertension therapy is generally lifelong. (more…)

Poor semen quality, thick mucus, cystic fibrosis; what do they have in common?
Let’s start with the mucus part. I’ve posted a webpage below that may be hard to understand. It basically talks about the the affects of l-arginine on CF patients. L-arginine is an amino acid which changes the viscosity (thickness) of mucus. This makes the semen a healthier environment.
L-arginine has many other strengths having to do with the heart, digestive track and lungs as well. (more…)

B6 and progesterone production
The benefits of B-6 are many. Let’s look at the best of them:
- Vitamin B6 in its natural state, as opposed to isolated in a laboratory, will give your body the “anutrients” that are supposed to accompany it. A-nutrients are the balancing nutrients that all vitamins and minerals have “attached” to them. An example is that to separate calcium from magnesium would make calcium almost unusable by the body. Calcium needs magnesium to draw it into the blood and tissue. Copper needs zinc etc. With vitamins it is the same. (more…)
