As with anything we do at Infertility Workshop, we want to make sure that the herbs we introduce you to would be healthy for TTC. So even though we don’t have all the answers, we do want to help you with your health questions
about herbs as much as possible.
Herbs for increasing iron levels are as follows:
The best tea for enhancing iron absorption is anise. Mint, caraway, cumin, and licorice teas are also effective, but anise
is the best.
Gentian (available in tincture form) is used in the treatment of anemia because it stimulates the secretion of digestive juices, thereby enhancing iron absorption.
Yellow dock (available in tincture form) is used to raise hemoglobin levels in the blood and is also a good source of iron.
Dandelion is another helpful herb and can be taken in tincture form, but if possible, juicing is best. You can purchase it
in any good produce section or health food store, or even a farm stand. Just juice it for the best results because you will
get the entire leaf and stalk for vitamins AND minerals.
